Although there is huge variety in their leaves and growth habit, Arums are a family of plants that are linked by their flower structure. They have a special inflorescence (group of flowers) called a spadix, which is surrounded by a leaf-like bract called a spathe. Check out the specimen below to see the male and female flowers that make up this inflorescence.
