Description: Clavate filaments of Eschweilera caudiculata based on S. P. Angel et al. 298 from Nariño, Colombia. Note that the vestigial stamens are covered with yellow pollen which may be a kind of secondary pollen presentation, i.e., the pollen may sometimes be transferred from the vestigial stamens to the pollinator as well as directly from anthers to the pollinator. The yellow color of the anthers and the pollen is hypothesized to serve as a pollen guide.
