Definition:

Filaments that depart from the rim of a staminal tube and arch inward.

Notes:

All species of Gustavia possess arched filaments. They depart from the apex of the staminal tube rim and curve inward to the center of the flower. Do not confuse this type of filament with reflexed filaments as found in species of Allantoma and Grias which arise from the inside of a staminal tube and turn abruptly downward.
