Description:

Pileus 4-5.5cm broad, dry to tacky, convex to plano-convex, with red fibrillose to subsquamulose scales at first over a yellow ground, eventually pale to dull yellow overall. Flesh light yellow to white, blueing when exposed, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose, adnate to shallowly subdecurrent. Tubes yellow, bluing; pores red, this color soon diluted as hymenophore expands, very fine. Stipe 4.5 -6 cm long, 10-15 mm broad, equal to subequal to reminiscently subclavate, dry, subpruinose and finely and obscurely longitudinally ridged, turning blue when handled, red from below apex downward. Interior chrome to cadmium yellow, changing to blue when exposed. With white basal mycelium.
Habitat:

Montane cloud forest. Quercus copeyensis, Q. seemannii. Gregarious. On soil.
