  • Description

    Pileus 4-8 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, sometimes with a low broad umbo, slightly tacky when fresh, with suede-like texture, this disappearing with age, white with hints of very pale yellow and some brownish pink stains in situ, with appendiculate, sterile veil remnants at margin. Flesh white, unchanging, with mild odor and bitter taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first, becoming vinaceous pink. Stipe 9-15 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal to subclavate, strict or curved, lacunose-reticulate to alveolate, especially below, moist to sticky, white overall, developing yellow to brownish yellow stains at base with age, with white basal mycelium and rhizmorphic strands.
