Scientific names for plants can indicate a number of different attributes, including where that species occurs. These orchid species are some that have been named for the country of Mexico, or Mexican states such as Oaxaca, Jalisco, or Vera Cruz. These species may be restriced to Mexico, or they may occur throughout Central and tropical America.
