July in the Native Plant Garden

The Native Plant Garden is looking lovely right now!

Some plants that are flowering include Black Cohosh, in the shady understory, several species of Pitcher Plants along the edge of the pond, and Milkweed, Monarda and Joe Pye Weed growing in full sun in the meadow. A vestige of the early NYBG years include the conifer Torreya, planted when that area of the Garden was a collection of conifers called a Pinetum.

In the herbarium we can visit these plants year round!
