Specimens contained in the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium represent the endless stories we can tell about why we love plants. These stories range from conservation work done around the globe by the Garden's scientists, to works of art based on these very specimens, to our favorite plant based food and drink, to important points in history intrinsically linked to our specimens.

Of course, for scientists and staff at the New York Botanical Garden, we expand plant love to include the love of plants, algae, and fungi. Here are some examples of specimens that represent plant love in the herbarium!
