Many of the red algae are incredibly delicate and beautiful, as exemplified by this lace algae. This species grows all over the world – it was originally described from Sri Lanka, but can be found off the coasts of Japan, Mauritius, Brazil, the Caribbean and Florida, where this collection was made.
