Description:

8 m high tree in woodlands. Sap milky. Fruit green. In apical fruiting branches ants construct nests of wood pulp in which Homeoptera are cultivated. Ants stinging in nature.

Habitat:

Semi-deciduous, tropical amazonian forest at its southern limit. Located on the precambrian Brazilian shield.
