Description:

About 2 to 3 meters high; stems 3 to 5 clustered, knoblike and reddish at the base, 1/2 inch thick, green and smooh; the lower 1/3 leafless; leaves thin, much paler green beneath, smaller and more numerous toward the apex, at the base becoming bract like and widely scattering; inflorescence erect and above ground, bracteate, arising from below the bulbose stems; calyx reddish; corolla creamy white, delicate, finely nerved with brown; hood or claw and stamens also pale white.

along a wooded ravine. in damp soil.
