Description:
Loose tufts; stems subinclined, terete, smooth, hard, green, 1/2 inch thick or less; leaves, submembranous, ascending, nearly flat, smaller and closer set toward the apex, the basal few scattering and much reduced; darker above; inflorescence terminal, 1 to 2 feet long, greenish white, few branched; ovaries green; calyx rugose, pale white, with thin greenish recurved segments; petal reddish streaked; back of the anchers green.
