Ecuador. Esmeraldas. Quinindé (Canton). The Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve. Bilsa Biological Station. Mache mountains, 35 km W of Quinindé, 5 km W of Santa Isabel. W of banana plantation. Alt. 400 - 600 m. (1312 - 1968 ft.)

Description:

Herb, 1.5 m tall. Rachis yellow, base of spathe yellow and rest of bract red. Corolla yellow. Common in understory of disturbed forest.

Habitat:

Mature forest. Premontane Wet Forest.
