The reference map shows that the approximate location of the waterfall is at the junction of Rio Trombetas and Rio Mapuera and very nearby a main road. Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Cachoeira Porteira and Lago Jacare along Rio Trombetas. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line from the farthest extent of Cachoeira Porteira to the mouth of the stream which branches off from Rio Trombetas to lead to Lago Jacare; halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint between the sites. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of this segment along Rio Trombetas, on the adjacent east shore. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates toe the farthest extent of the segment along Rio Trombetas, 19486.9 m.), and measurement error (.1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.)
