Along banks of creeks. Surrounded by forest of Abies lasiocarpa, Pinus contorta, and Populus tremuloides. Assoc.: Carex microptera, Aster integrifolius, Mimulus moschatus, Senecio streptanthifolius, and Deschampsia cespitosa. Locally common. Moist sandy loam.
