Suriname. Sipaliwini. Vicinity of Ulemari River, ca. 150 km upstream from its confluence with Litani River. Alt. 175 m. (574 ft.)

Description:

Primary lowland wet forest, ca. 100 m from Ulemari River. Emergent tree; 50 m tall with buttresses to 5 m high; leafless, leaves having dropped off before flowering, dead leaves collected off ground; floral shadow beneath tree, ca. 30 m in diameter, flowe.
