Suriname. Sipaliwini. Vicinity of Ulemari River, ca. 150 km upstream from its confluence with Litani River. Alt. 175 m. (574 ft.)

Description:

Emergent tree, 50 m tall, with buttresses to 5 m high. Leafless, leaves having dropped before flowering, and leaves collected off ground; floral shadow below tree ca. 30 m in diam. Flowers collected off ground. Floral pedicel and calyx maroon-colored, petals reflexed, pink basally, the remainder white, staminal hood whte basally inside, the remainder pink, stamens white, stigma white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
