Costa Rica. Puntarenas. Osa Peninsula, about 3 km W of Rincón de Osa. Alt. 50 - 200 m. (164 - 656 ft.)

Description:

Tree, cut[ted] near the ground at 1 m with several new trunks, these unbranched to the apex, 4-8 m tall. Leaves becoming very large, flowers white, cauliflorous. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Moist forest in valley bottom, tropical wet forest with open understory on steep slopes and ridges, and areas of secondary vegetation north and west of the field.
