Description: Cross-section of a petiole of Grias purpuripetala based on Angel et al. 282 from Nariño, Colombia. Note the lower arc of circular bundles, the lack of vascular bundles in the center, and the upper line of one central elliptical bundle flanked on each side by a small circular bundle. The bundles are also called vascular traces.
