In this type of androecial hood, the hood is flat and thickened, there are no appendages with anthers on the hood, and the vestigial stamens are poorly developed.

Notes:
Two other species, Corythophora amapaensis and C. labriculata are the only other species that we know with this type of androecial hood. Although these three species lack staminodes on the hood, they are present on the ligular side of the staminal ring and can usually be distinguished by the yellow instead of white anthers of the stamens.
