Term:

Androecial hood horizontally oriented (= hood horizontally oriented)
Definition:

An androecial hood with the first coil oriented at more-or-less 90 degrees to the main axis of the flower.
Notes:

The main axis of the flower is determined by making 1) a longitudinal section of a flower, 2) holding the flower erect and drawing a lline vertically along the middle of the pedicel through the rest of the flower, 3) drawing a line along the first coil of the androecial hood, 4) determining the upper angle of the two lines as indicated in the image. This character does no apply to species that do not have an androecial hood.
