Definition:
The area at or above the inside of the staminal ring.

Notes:
The ovary summit consists of all parts of the ovary found at or above the inner ring of the staminal ring. In the plateau-like type of ovary summit the top of the plateau can be modified into an ovary apex that may or may not be modified into an ovary apex which can be broadly obconical or umbonate. In addition, the style can be distinct from the ovary summit or the ovary apex or it may be undifferentiated from the ovary summit or the ovary apex.
