Term:

Cotyledons phanerocotylar
Definition:

A type of seed germination in which the cotyledons emerge from the seed coat at germination..
Notes:

In neotropical Lecythidaceae, this term applies only to the species of those genera that have fleshy cotyledons (Gustavia>) or leaf-like cotyledons (Cariniana, Couratari, Couroupita, and possibly Allantoma). The species of the remaining genera have macropodial embryos (i.e., without cotyledons) so, in the strict sense, this term does not apply to them.
