Star-shaped, usually referring to trichomes.

Notes:

Stellate trichomes are only known in neotropical Lecythidaceae to occur on the leaf blades and inflorescences, including the hypanthium, of Couratari sect. Echinata and C. sect. Couratari but not in C. sect. microcarpa.
