Notes:
In Lecythidaceae, used to describe the symmetry of only species of Cariniana because it is the only type of zygomorphic flower in Lecythidaceae that has its stamens arising all around the inside of a small, thin-walled staminal tube. The other type of zygomorphic flower in neotropical Lecythidaceae, found in species of Couroupita, Corythophora, Couratari, Eschweilera, and Lecythis possesses stamens that arise from a staminal ring and not from a tube.
