Description: Bark of Eschweilera biflava based on Reinaldo Aguilar 10613 from the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Note the vertically oriented lenticels and the single depression caused by the fall of an irregular piece of bark. Bark that sheds in this manner is said to be scalloped.
