Description: Ruminate endosperm of Asteranthos brasiliensis. From Appel, 1996. Medial longitudinal section left, cross or transverse section right. When a longitudinal section goes through the middle of the structure being section, the section can be called a medial section or a medial longitudinal section. Asteranthos brasiliensis is now placed in the Scytopetalaceae.
