Notes:
In neotropical Lecythidaceae, ovule insertion varies; for example species of Grias and Gustaiva have their ovules inserted toward the apex of the lower septum with a wide space from there to the base of the lower septum; species of Allantoma have ovules inserted along the entire length of the lower septum; and species of the Lecythis pisonis clade have a short space between the base of the lower septum and the first ovule insertion.
