Definition:

The stalk of the flower. Flowers without pedicels are called sessile.
Notes:

In Lecythidaceae, there is an articulation in the pedicel. Sometimes the articulation is near the point (e.g., see attached image of Couroupita guianensis) and sometimes it is elevated above (e.g., see attached image of Eschweilera spCcosta rica) the point of attachment.
