Description: Androecial hood: Lecythis idatimon-type. The hood is separated from the staminal ring by an appendage-free ligule, it is flat, and the appendages do not bear anthers and, thus, are called vestigial stamens. This is an example of a flat type of androecial hood. The stamens are restricted to the staminal ring.
