Description: Staminal tube and staminal tube rim of a species of Gustavia. In species of this genus there is no staminal ring. Instead the stamens arise from the staminal tube rim at the circular apex of the staminal tube. This species of this genus are the only neotropical lecythidaceae with broad, thin staminal tubes.

The uppermost edge of a staminal tube.

Notes:

In neotropical Lecythidaceae, all genera with actinomorphic-flowers (i.e., species of Allantoma, Grias, and Gustavia and one zygomorphic-flowered genus, Cariniana, possess staminal tube rims.
