Description: Isodromous, anadromous, and catadromous venation refers to the position of the first secondary vein of a leaflet in relationship to the apex of the leaflet, i.e., are the two secondary veins opposite, does the first secondary vein arise on the basal side of the secondary leaflet, or does the first secondary vein arise on the apical side of the secondary leaflet. This venation feature is often used in classifying and identifying ferns.
