Other species of Lecythis may be laminated but this is not visible without making anatomical sections. For example, the bark of Lecythis corrugata is beaten to produce lamina used, at least in the past, for cigarette paper. These is caused by the presence of concentric layers of parenchyma and, thus, the outer bark is laminated at the anatomical level but this species in not laminated at the macroscopic level.
