Description:

Diagnosis: From the protologue: Basidiomata hypogeous to partially emergent, sequestrate. Peridium greyish yellow, staining dark blue, glabrous to subtomentose, thin. Gleba brown, unchanging, loculate, sterile veins absent. Basidiospores statismosporic, subglobose to oblong, light brown, inamyloid, with costate ornamentation of longitudinal ridges pole to pole; these entire or discontinuous; pedicel infrequent. Basidia clavate. Cystidia and clamp connections absent.

Nomenclature remarks: The only species described (as a sp. nov.) following the generic description on the same page is C. cyanescens. Satisfies valid publication according to Art. 38.5.
