Specimen Notes: In mari Australi. Specimina dedit Desfontaines. In hb. Ag. is an hb. sh[eet]. inscribed "Chondria obtusa var. virgata" in the hand of the older Ag. On this sheet are two small specimens one (No. 36985) mounted on the sheet, the other (36986) in a packet. Neither has locality or name of sender. Is probably a Cape of Good Hope plant, judging from specimens referred to the species by J. Ag[ardh]. The California "virgata" is kept in a separate cover. Photo of 36985. 64,3 m 12:15. Nat. size.
