Description:

Pileus 3.5-6.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, matted subtomentose, dull yellow with splashes of red or red overtones. Flesh up to 2 cm thick, yellow and cyanescent then white with pale blue, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate, shallow (4 mm long), yellow and cyanescent, with red, cyanescent pores, 2-3 per mm. Stipe 6-8 cm long, 10-23 mm thick, subclavate and usually pinched at the base, reticulate at upper 1 cm, subpruinose streaked below, yellow at apex, red below to rhubarb red at base, with yellow basal mycelium, with interior bright yellow and cyanescent. Quercus copeyensis, Q. seemannii, & Quercus sp. gregarious. soil.
