Description:

Pileus 4-11 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, finely subtomentose to finely subfibrillose, dull yellow (4A5) with scattered patches of dark red. Flesh bright yellow, cyanescent when exposed, up to 2.5 cm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes up to 1 cm long, yellow (3A4), cyanescent, with pores red, 2-3 per mm, cyanescent. Stipe 8-11 cm long, 1-2 cm thick, equal, dry, reticulate in upper 2 cm to finely subpruinose streaked, yellow (3A5) at apex, progressively redder towards base which is a rhubarb red, with white basal mycelium, with interior as in pileus.
Habitat:

Quercus seemannii, Quercus sp. gregarious. soil.
