Description:

Pileus 1-2 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, sometimes becoming slightly depressed on the disc, subviscid, soon dry, finely matted subtomentose to glabrous, bright yellow (3A6,5) when young, duller yellow orange (5B5-5C5) with age. Flesh . Hymenophore subdecurrent to decurrent, radially tubulose (boletinoid), deep reddish brown (8F7), then cocoa brown (6E7), not bruisng when bruised; pores concolorous. Stipe 2-4 cm long, 3-7 mm broad, equal, curved or strict, dry, heavily pruinose above, floccose to matted floccose below, pale and dull reddish brown above, bright sulphur yellow toward the base, with bright yellow basal mycelium. Material in CTAB.
Habitat:

Montane cloud forest. Quercus rapurahuensis, Q. copeyensis. Gregarious. On soil.
