Description:

scattered. Pileus 5-7 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, matted subtomentose, grayish orange (5B3, 5B4), sometimes with an obscure sterile flap at margin. Flesh white, unchanging, with mild odor an bitter taste. Tubes adnexed to deeply adnexed, pinkish gray to flesh colored, unchanging when exposed, with pores concolorous and bruising slightly brown in situ. Stipe 3-6 cm long, 1-1.6 broad, equal and pinched at the base, dry, white above, gray brown at base, conspicuously reticulate on upper half, with white basal mycelium; interior solid, white, unchanging. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
Habitat:

Quercus oleoides, Pinus caribaea. On sandy soil.
