R. E. Halling 7119 with G. Mueller, B. Strack, and A.E. Franco, 02 Nov 1993
Description:

Is NH4 negative on yellow unchanging flesh, white basal mycelium that stains salmon to ochraceous pink, pileus subtomentose that is NH4 negative, chrome yellow stipe with a short apical reticulum, stipe bruises light brown. A character seen in this collection that I thought was artifactual, thus not mentioned in that description last July, is that the pileus margin is inrolled and sterile when young, as pileus becomes plane, a sterile band is still present. Tubes are shallow when young, separate from the pileus flesh when mature and 1 cm deep. Pileus up to 10 cm broad. Stipe 5-11 cm long, 17-25 mm broad, equal. See Halling 7043 from July 1993, same locality.
Habitat:

Submontane forest. Quercus oocarpa or Q. insignis dominant. Gregarious. On soil.
