Costa Rica. Guanacaste. Near Liberia, Area Conservacion Guanacaste, 15 km S of Liberia, 17 km E of Interamerican Highway, Estacíon "La Virgen", sendero El Cañal. Alt. 450 m. (1476 ft.)

Description:

Pileus 4-7 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, tomentose, becoming finely areolate toward margin with age chestnut brown to bright cinnamon brown. Flesh white, unchanging, up to 1 cm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first then yellow, unchanging, with concolorous pores up to 1 mm broad. Stipe 2-5 cm broad, 4-10 mm broad, ±equal to slightly broader below, dry, brittle, concolorous with pileus, subpruinose, with white interior soon hollow, with white mycelium at base.
Habitat:

Submontane forest. Quercus oleoides. Gregarious. On soil.
