Description:

Pileus 3.5 cm broad, convex, dry, tomentose to matted tomentose, dark brown (6E6), darker brown with ammonia. Flesh very pale yellow, unchanging, 8 mm thick, with mild odor and taste developing a lingering sharpness in the back of the throat. Tubes adnate, bright yellow (2A8), unchanging, 3 mm long, xerocomoid, with pores a darker yellow (3A7), angular, 1 mm broad, unchanging. Stipe 4 cm long, 8 mm broad, barely subclavate with a pinched base, dry, concolorous with tubes at apex, a dirty pale olive brown below, with faint ridges (lens), otherwise subglabrous, with interior concolorous with pileus flesh above, brown in base.

Quercus oocarpa and Quercus sp. solitary. soil.
