Description:

Pileus 4-7.5 cm broad, dry, hemispheric when young, soon convex to plano convex, subtomentose to matted subtomentose, orange (6A8-6B8), sometimes developing brown tones (6E5), usually fading with age to grayish orange to brownsih orange (5B5-5B4-5C5-5C4). Flesh apricot yellow (5E7), unchanging, up to 15 mm deep. Tubes orange when young, soon yellowish green (4C6-4D6), adnate to barely depressed around the stipe, unchanging when exposed; pores frequently parasitized when young, with age an apparent dark orange red pigment present in uninfected mature basidiomes, unchanging when bruised. Stipe 5-7 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, ±equal to rarely subclavate, glabrous and even, yellow orange (5A6-5A7), not staining; interior near light orange (5A4), unchanging.
Habitat:

Dry sclerophyll. Eucalyptus grandis, Allocasuarina torulosa, Syncarpia hillii. Gregarious. On soil.
Feature Notes:

Origianlly thought to be a Crocinoboletus, but bleing/cyanescnce is lacking.
