Description:

Pileus 60-110 mm broad, circular, convex becoming plano-convex, margin appendiculate, slightly ragged, surface dry felty-matted fibrillose, dull orange (5B7) at center, more pinkish brown towards margin (6C6), almost white at margin at first; when mature more uniformly orange-brown, with parts becoming darker to 6E8. Flesh white, firm, solid, to 21 mm thick at center. Tubes sightly soft, becoming very soft when mature, empty, narrowly adnate, 12-24 mm long, grey pink (6C3), darkening to 7C4 (I think white when immature). Pores dry, smooth, roughly circular, same color as tubes. Stipe 50-85 mm long x 15-21, 22-26 mm broad, central, terete, subclavate, dry, lacunose (network), white at apex, orange brown (5B7) with deeper burnt orange tinges (7C8). Flesh hard, dry, white, solid. Basal mycelium white. Spores with smooth plage, otherwise with short, meandering flat ridges.
Habitat:

Sclerophyll. Eucalyptus diversicolor, Corymbia calophylla. Gregarious. On soil.
