Description:

Pileus 3-4 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, subtomentose to matted, 5B7 to 5D7 to 6D6. Flesh white with mild, pleasant odor, mild taste, slowly tan when exposed. Tubes adnate, pale yellowish white (4A3), with circular to mildly angular pores. Stipe 3.5 cm long, 1 cm broad, equal to slightly tapering to base, white, bruising brown slowly, subpruinose to finely "subscabrous" (as in others of this group), white at the base with interior white, slowly tan with exposure. Spores short ellipsoid (abaxial, adaxial), nearly bean-shaped in profile, but inequilateral. Hymenial cystidia present (pseudocystidia), but sparse.
