Description:

Pileus 2-5.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, finely subvelutinous to finely subtomentose to finely areolate, dark brown (9F8) at first, soon agate brown (7E8,7,6), with even margin. Flesh bright yellow, quickly cyanescent, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow to greenish yellow, quickly cyanescent, with cyanescent red pores. Stipe 4-9.5 cm long, 5-8 mm broad, equal, usually curved (on bark of standing trees), heavily matted subpruinose, uniformly dark rhubarb red overall, with white at base, with interior bright lemon yellow and cyanescent above, red to rhubarb red below.
Habitat:

Wet sclerophyll. Syncarpia hillii. Gregarious. On living tree bark.
