Description:

Pileus 34 mm, irregularly convex, densely matted subtomentose, bright orange (6A8); margin slightly involute. Context white to pale yellow. Odor fungoid; taste bitter. Pores 1-4 mm diameter, angular, nearly favoloid, cream (3A3) becoming yellower (3A4). Stipe 30 x 7 mm, tapered slightly toward base, solid (becoming hollow?), yellowish orange (4A6-4A7), minutely pruinose. Basal mycelium white.
