Description:

Pileus 3-9.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, tacky to dry, appressed fibrillose becoming appressed squamulose, grayish purplish (13,14E-F4)) at first, becoming pale brown to brownish yellow in parts with age. Flesh white to pale yellow, changing to tan then pinkish orange when young, lightly bluish then pinkish orange when exposed with age, with pungent odor and mild taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first, soon yellow to dirty yellow, cyanescent at first then brown. Stipe 4-6 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, curved, equal, dry, white then pale yellow above, staining brownish with handling, finely reticulate, with interior white and staining as in pileus. Dry sclerophyll. Allocasuarina, Eucalyptus. Gregarious. On sand.
