Description:

Pileus 2.5-5 cm broad, plane to uplifted, dry, heavily tomentose to velutinate, becoming subareolate, yellow to dull yellow and sometimes with pale pinkish brown in areas. Flesh bright lemon yellow, apparently not cyanescent, with mild odor and taste. Lamellae decurrent, close and often heavily anastomosed and fused, olive brown (4D-E6,5), slowly cyanescent, then brown. Stipe 3-7 cm long, 6-12 mm broad, equal or slightly broader toward base, strict or curved, dry, bright yellow, soon becoming reddish brown, conspicuously fibrillose striate, bright yellow at base arising from bright yellow rhizomorphs, with interior yellow, slowly cyanescent. NH4: bluish gray on pileus, pale bluish green on context, pinkish red on stipe.

Sclerophyll. Eucalyptus, Allocasuarina, Leptospermum. Scattered. On sand.
