Description:

Pileus 2.5-6 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, dark brown (7F7) to brown (6E7), to cinnamon brown (6D6) to brownish orange (6C8,7), with these colors forming a mottled appearance, subvelutinous, becoming very finely areolate. Flesh white, unchanging with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, white to yellowish white, becoming pale yellow, developing pale orangish stains slowly from bruising. Stipe 2.5-5 cm long, 5-12 mm broad, equal to clavate, dry, similarly colored as pileus, matted subvelutinous to matted tomentose, white at the base, with interior white, unchanging, pithy to chambered and hollow. With obvious annular zone when a button.
